Laboratory Bench for Study of Gas Turbine Engines Characteristics

Description

The lab stand is based on the TurboGen gas turbine electric power generation system by Turbine Technologies, equipped with National Instruments control and measurement hardware. The system is powered by an SR-30 Turbo-Jet engine.

The specially designed software allows measuring the pressures and temperatures at various points of the jet engine, fuel consumption and the generator parameters such as voltage, current and power. The graphs of various measurements can be plotted in real time and the measurement results can be saved in MS Excel format for further analysis.

The stand can be used for demonstration and study of the theory of gas turbines and electricity generation.

Virtual Control and Research System of Gas Turbine Engine Characteristics

The Virtual System of Gas Turbine Engine Lab is designed for simulation of operation of gas-turbine engines and studying the parameters variation depending on the engine power conditions.  The Virtual System of Gas Turbine Engine laboratory is based on the NI sbRIO-9627 real-time controller by National Instruments company.
